Take a walk on the bright side with Art 634 this weekend in Downtown Jackson as we celebrate Bright Walls with the Fall Art Walk! Local artists will be nearby murals #20 through #25 and murals #53 through #59. Find the Bright Walls map linked in the comments, and then look out for the updated City of Jackson map featuring all of the Bright Walls murals, along with the many great spots to checkout during your time downtown.

Along your walk, make sure to stop by Jackson School of the Arts to see the updated work by artist . Inspired by the classic Aesop fable about kindness, courage, and the impact we can have on one another, this mural epitomizes a walk on the bright side.

Remember, parking is free all weekend long, so slow down and linger a little longer. There is much to do and see in the city!

We are excited to see the return of Bright Walls muralist, Emily Ding, for a refresh of Lion and the Mouse at Jackson School of the Arts! Check out Emily's work at www.emilyding.art, and make sure to get tickets to meet the artist this Thursday at JSA (ticket link in shared post).

Checkout Emily's finished work, and help celebrate the beautiful energy Bright Walls continues to bring to Downtown Jackson during the Downtown Art Walk on September 5th from noon until 3pm. Follow the path to find art big and small!

A Bright Walls favorite is getting new life this week.

Artist Emily Ding is returning to Jackson to restore her 2019 mural, The Lion and the Mouse, a colorful piece inspired by the classic Aesop fable about kindness, courage and the impact we can have on one another.

Emily will be in town Wednesday through Friday working on the mural and helping us preserve a piece of public art that means a lot to our community.

This restoration is a partnership with Jackson School of the Arts. On Thursday, we’re hosting a patio party with Emily at the school. Ticket proceeds will support the mural restoration, so come hang out, meet the artist and help keep public art alive in Jackson.

We invite artists to submit works for a 3-D art show that celebrates bold, expressive pieces that just happen to come alive through 3-D glasses. To clarify, this is not sculpture art (though it can be), but 2D art that creates 3D depth with glasses that will be provided on-site. Works should embrace the vivid spectrum - reds, oranges, and yellows leaping forward, while blues and greens recede. Bright vivid colors that pop off the canvas. Bright art on black backgrounds.

This is the perfect show for psychedelic art!

Please include pictures of your work, size of the piece, and the medium. There is no limit to the number of pieces entered.
