For our friends in Sturgis on up the Western side of the Mitten...
If ever there was a reason to venture over to the Eastside....for much-needed Comfort Food...here's your đȘ§đ§đȘđ€đżđ„€
Folks, we need to chat very briefly.
Not to take away from the severe threat today, but tomorrowâs severe risk on todayâs model runs is raising our level of concern for lower Michigan, and thatâs a lot coming from us as we try our best to keep things straight forward. This map below is a model parameter that takes instability and wind shear parameters and spits out a color & number. We typically look for values around 4 or 5 or greater to be concerned about severe weather.
Thursday eveningâs severe risk on todayâs models has really ramped up to the point that models are spitting out higher end numbers signifying the atmosphere may become extremely volatile- especially across west Michigan. This is something we donât see often. If we do indeed see a squall line moving into an environment like this, significant wind gusts (75mph+) and tornadoes (some strong) should be expected and honestly, this is already being forecasted. The concern is just continuing to grow.
We will continue to watch models tonight into tomorrow. Bottom line. Keep an eye on the forecast for tomorrow AND donât forget about this evenings threat as well.
