We are looking for a few new enthusiastic people to become DJ Apprentices.
Help people have fun at weddings, birthday parties, reunions, proms, and other events...and get paid to do it!
Being a DJ apprentice is the first step towards becoming a professional Master of Ceremonies and DJ. We are looking for outgoing, energetic people with a passion for entertaining and music. Learn from some of New Hampshire’s premier mobile entertainers, who all got their start as DJ assistants. The ideal candidate enjoys being on-stage, is friendly and approachable, and is willing to learn technical and performance-based skills.
No experience needed, but passion is a must. DJ apprentice must be at least in high school, and available to work Friday evenings and weekends. Perfect job for a high school/college student looking for a job in performing arts and entertainment.
Sowa Entertainment’s DJs put equal emphasis on the music and the public speaking aspects of the job. We will teach you both the technical aspects of running sound equipment, as well as hosting, announcing, and event management. Every type of event calls for a different approach and style, we will work with you to help you understand the energy and tone needed for all jobs. We are looking to add a variety of personalities and styles, all with an emphasis on professionalism.
Requirements for all positions:
- An outgoing personality.
- Ability to work independently, as well as take direction.
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Must remain calm under pressure
- Reliability and ability to commit to schedule as much as 2 months in advance. We cannot cancel on our clients' special events, so the right candidate is someone who is organized and upholds their commitments.
- Recognize that, ultimately, this is a customer service job, so the ability to keep a smile on and maintain a positive attitude at ALL times is a MUST.
- Basic computer skills
- Available Fridays/Saturdays, mostly evenings/nights. This does not mean working every weekend, but to be regularly available on the weekends, working at least one event every 2 weeks. ALSO, we do have the occasional event that occurs during the week. Availability during the week is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Professional attire (No sneakers, no sweatpants, no shorts, no flip flops or other open-toed shoes). Each event has different dress codes, but business professional is the norm (dress pants/slacks, dress shirt w/ tie, or other office-appropriate attire).
- Communication is key! Much of our correspondence takes place via email or text message, and response within 24 hours is expected.
- A reliable means of transportation.
