So I decided to dig into my music library to see what genres I had the most of in my catalog. Some genres are grouped together (like rock includes alternative, metal, hard rock, etc.), and a few numbers could be even higher if I counted songs filed under "Soundtrack" and added them to their correct genre:

1. Rock – 2,292
2. Country – 2,108
3. Pop – 2,030
4. Rap – 1,086
5. Christian – 823
6. Soundtrack – 776
7. Singer/Songwriter/Folk -203

I had someone ask me the other day if I was still DJ’ing. Let me just make myself clear here, as long as there is breath in my lungs, I will always be a DJ.

It’s part of who I am, music is my world. There’s nothing quite like giving a crowd of people the escapism from all their worries through the atmosphere of lights and music. Even when you prepare for an event, it can be a little nerve wrecking to keep that momentum going, you can lose a crowd just as fast as you get them. Sometimes, you go with a request, sometimes you stick to the prepared playlist and sometimes you go with gut instinct on a song. I try to read the crowd best i can and make sure everyone walks away having the best time. Hearing that I knocked it out of the park, crushed it or just getting a fist bump of approval, it’s such a rewarding feeling. I will always be a DJ at heart.

I haven’t posted much on my page as I probably should. Want to be a bit more active so aside from simply posting when I’m booked, I’ll just talk about music. What I’ve been listening to, what’s caught my attention, top 5/10 lists, fun facts about songs and what not. Also, hope to get a bit more of a following over time.
