Grad party barbecue buffet

Just fed 100 hungry grads and parents like it was my full-time job (wait… side hustle 😂)
Menu for Alexa’s high school graduation party (shoutout to Dr. Kathy for letting me take over her backyard):
• 15 racks of baby back ribs that disappeared faster than the seniors’ curfew
• Two giant 20-lb briskets (sliced + burnt ends) that had people fighting over the ends
• Two 10-lb pork butts that basically turned into pulled-pork mountains
• Two whole oven chickens, shredded and gone
• Apple pie baked beans (yes, they taste like dessert and sides at the same time)
• Cornbread pudding that made people question their life choices
• Loaded baked potato salad
• Coleslaw for the top of the pull pork mountains
• 3 trays of Karen’s famous mac & cheese that could’ve been its own food group

Dessert: banana pudding + two Oreo mud pies that caused an actual stampede.

😂 Yesterday got away from me (classic), so here’s the a video before chaos from the 4th Annual Manorville Fire Department Rib Off!
I walked Smokers Alley like a BBQ tourist before the madness hit. 11,000 ribs on the line, and my team? Sold out in TWO HOURS. First time in four years we didn’t have a single rib left to drag home. Usually I’m packing leftovers like a defeated king… this time the people showed up HUNGRY.
The word is officially out — massive crowd, ribs flying off the tables, and still somehow enough burgers, hot dogs, roasted corn, beer, and wine to keep the party going even after the ribs ghosted everyone.
Shoutout to all the teams (and all the amazing guys & gals slinging meat like pros). Congrats to the winners — we didn’t crack the top 5, but hey… there’s always next year to plot our rib domination strategy.
This event is straight fire (pun intended). Can’t wait to do it again — just maybe with a few extra thousand ribs so I don’t have to explain to my crew why we ran out before dinner 😂
