This time last year, I had zero blooms from my dahlias. They completely shut down for the season. I’m sure only half of my dahlias bloomed in total. 😮‍💨😕 Heat. Lack of rain. Humidity. Pest pressure from early June to mid August did them in. This year, I put up shade cloth for the month of June and some of July and only watered when I absolutely needed to-not everyday. Although my dahlias are still shorter this year, I have sooo many healthy buds!!! Next year, I’m installing a permanent shade cloth for the summer-my back yard receives up to 12-15 hours of sunshine each day. That’s toooo much heat.🥴 Peaches n cream didn’t even see her last year! Here’s to a September full of Dahlias!✨

I haven’t picked from these Italian petunias allll summer long. Decided to give her a whirl for tomorrow’s fresh off the farm drop.🤣 She’s lovely. Oh so lovely. But stickyyyyy. I hope to run into seed for her again, but if not, I’ll be ok. She’s not my absolute favorite. But I do think she would be grand for wedding work!

Sunflower and DIY bouquets (with a ton of flowers) at the stand today! $15. 72 Rockville st Rockport. I’ll be adding sourdough bread and sweets in September-November. Next year, we’re going to give the stand some crazy love and upgrades and I’ll be adding plants starts again, sourdough goodies fruits, veg and flowers throughout next summer! ✨

SE gardens are looking gorgeous! Jude and I installed the Rock Wall garden last weekend, and it survived a hawwwtt week. Laying down a top coat of compost and next year, I’m hoping to add spring interest plants, erigeron and poppies!
