Irish Spring Festival It was found that the area had been settled by an Irishman named Andrew Wilson. The average life-span at that time was approximately 38 years.

In later years, the man affectionately became known as "Old Ireland" to the settlers of that area. More in depth research led to the discovery that "Old Ireland" had lived to enjoy 114 springtimes. When community members heard of the discovery, they were convinced there was something unique about the quality of life in Ireland, West Virginia that was conducive to long life spans. A coupling of thi

s newfound reason for excitement, along with the already established perennial desire to celebrate the vernal equinox led to the first planned IRISH SPRING FESTIVAL.

While the 2025 festival has came to an end, we graciously Thank all those CEOS members, community members, volunteers & behind the scene workers that help make it a success!

☘️💚 It’s officially SPRING & to ring in the honored tradition here in Ireland, 9 individuals made the climb to the top of Blarney Rock at 5:01am to declare the 1st day of Spring 🌼🌤️

Depart Ireland at 4:30am Thursday morning, March 20th & declare the official Spring Equinox at 5:01am
Guests may enjoy breakfast served at the Ireland Community Building at 7:00am.

💚☘️Local school children visited Ireland today for the Elves & Urchins event. A Special Thanks to Paint MisBehavin’ for providing a magic show to the children & giving back to our community!

💛Fun was had by all & children were able to meet King Andrew Mark Thomas as well as past Queen Elizabeth Sharrey Craig.

☘️ Festival Sunday made history when high winds & a storm passed thru taking the power with it for a few hours.
But in true Ireland fashion the show went on thanks to the work of the men to hook up the generator & keep the kitchen open & lights on.

💚We do apologize to those Snake Chase participants & thank you for understanding the cancelling of the event due to the storm.

💚The afternoon cleared & 12 youngsters enjoyed the Frolic’ in the Field kids games, a few teams enjoyed the short course Road Bowling & 6 contestants finished the day in the Fried Potato Contest!

Thank you all for joining us & helping out in the times of change today. Ireland certainly shines with kindness & hospitality! 💚☘️
