I’ve fallen in love with the honesty of harsh light.

Instead of always scooting everyone and everything into the corner of the room where the light is the most perfect and even, I’m looking for that streak of sunlight.

The kind that pushes the shadows deeper, the highlights brighter, and adds shape and dimension to an image.

I find myself lingering on these photographs longer. They feel less like something that was simply captured and more like something that was created.
