We’re setting up in the Dollar General parking lot on Hwy 92 today as the town gets ready for the Warren County Fair next week!

We’re so excited to have new signs in stock—perfect for those rainy Saturdays and to help guide you to dance registration next door!

It was such a treat to catch up with Traci. We miss seeing her at the Saturday market, but we’re thrilled to feature her locally designed and handcrafted creations right here in the shop.

The small human and I had fun upgrading our I Spy jars today…if you bought one at the market and want a sealed version, pop on in and we will upgrade it with extra items in the jar for free! The have been a hit in Huxley’s Corner!

Hand-Me-Down Talents also brought in more unpaper towels and some reusable water balloons. The little girl child loves using these at home, and we’ll be incorporating them at camp this week for Indianola Dance Academy. These are a great way to have fun without hurting our planet!

In Loving Memory of Huxley Abel Maytum
July 2, 2024 – October 10, 2024

Today would have been Huxley’s first birthday. This day, and every day, The Local Collective honors his memory.

Born to Lacey and Andrew, Huxley was eagerly awaited by all who knew his family—and by us. His bright eyes, wide smile, and nearly-there giggle lit up every room. I remember our last afternoon chat, the day before he passed. His smile was right on the edge of a laugh. That joy is something I’ll carry with me forever.

On Thursday, October 10th, Huxley passed away suddenly from SIDS. His loss has forever changed the lives of those who loved him.

In his honor, we created Huxley’s Corner—a curated space filled with hand-selected and handmade items that bring comfort, spark imagination, and celebrate little ones. From silicone puzzles and teethers to handmade blankets, bows, books, and sensory play, each item is chosen with love.

20% of all proceeds from Huxley’s Corner go to the SIDS Foundation in his name.

Thank you for helping us remember Huxley by giving back and spreading kindness.
