Set in an 1898 pre-Prohibition brewery bottling house, 24 Shelby is a historic event venue in downtown Indianapolis. Original brick walls, exposed wood beams, oversized factory windows, and warm Edison lighting fill 6,000 square feet that seats 250 (300+ standing), all on a single ADA-accessible floor with an attached patio. We host weddings, corporate events, holiday parties, and private celebrations, with outside catering welcome and an in-house bar. Book a tour at 24shelby.com.

We can talk about the building all day. It means more coming from someone who threw their event here.

From the first info call to the last call at the bar, Sarah is in it with you. That is the part people remember long after the night ends. Not just the brick and the Edison lights, but the person who made it all run.

Real review, real night, every word theirs.

This building has had seven lives.

It started in 1898 as the bottling house for the Home Brewing Company. Then a steam plant, a power station, a tire factory, a lumber yard, a craft brewery. Prohibition closed the beer, but the walls never came down. Now it is the only surviving pre-Prohibition brewery building in Indianapolis, and it is full of weddings again.

You do not get a story like this from a ballroom.

Glasses up. This is what June looks like here.

Peak wedding season fills the Edison Room with toasts, candlelight, and everyone the couple loves in one place. The brick is 127 years old. The moment is brand new. That contrast is the whole point.

The best toasts always run a little long. We are okay with that.

Before the first dance, before the toasts, there is the Libations Lounge.

This is the 1920s bar at the front of the building. Fully stocked, glowing gold, and built for the in-between moments. Cocktail hour, a quiet drink between courses, the after-party nobody wants to end. It can open right into the Edison Room or close off for something more intimate.

Every great night needs a room like this to start in.

We could describe the day. It means more in her words.

Every wedding here starts and ends with Sarah, and somehow she is in every thank-you note after. That is not a coincidence. It is the reason couples drive past a dozen ballrooms to get here.

Real bride, real night, every word hers.

1898. That is the year these walls went up as the bottling house for the Home Brewing Company.

It is the only surviving pre-Prohibition brewery building in Indianapolis. Every other one is gone. August Hook, the brewmaster who worked here, raised the son who founded Hook's Drugs. Sarah pulled the original nails out of 1898 wood by hand before the first guest ever walked in.

The music starts, the room leans in, and for one song it is just the two of them.

This is June at 24 Shelby. First dances under Edison lights, 127 years of brick holding the moment, everyone they love circled close. Peak wedding season looks right at home in here.

This building has seen a lot of beginnings. They are still our favorite kind.

This is the Edison Room with the lights on and the tables set.

Original 1898 brick, exposed beams, and a ceiling full of Edison string lights that make everyone look golden. It seats 250 for dinner and still feels close. Long farm tables, candlelight, your people filling every chair.

The room does half the work. You just bring the people.

We could tell you we are great. It means more coming from them.

Every tour starts with Sarah, and somehow she is in every thank-you note after. That is not an accident. It is the whole point.
