Broadway UMC

Broadway UMC Broadway UMC seeks, welcomes, and values ALL people. We see abundance. We “have conversations and have faith.”
We believe in extravagant grace.

Broadway is a United Methodist congregation but there are some aspects that make us unique:
We are a joyous community. We take the Bible seriously but not literally. We are a place to call home!

Today’s press conference was about more than one development project.

It was about whether Indianapolis will prioritize working families and neighborhoods or continue handing public resources to wealthy corporations behind closed doors.

Faith leaders are standing with Martindale-Brightwood residents to demand transparency, accountability, and investment that puts people before profit.

Communities deserve better than corporate giveaways funded by taxpayers.

We have come to the end of The Great 50 Days of the Easter season and we will celebrate Pentecost Sunday in worship this week. Pentecost is the day when we mark the coming of the Holy Spirit (Paraclete/Advocate/Helper) which Jesus promised to his followers. It also marks the day we honor the birth of the Church as Jesus empowers the Body of Christ to continue God's mission in the world.

So break out your best red outfit and join us in the Sanctuary at 10:00am or online for worship this Sunday.

Music cannot be silenced. 🎶

When censorship tries to shut down art, community comes together to lift it up. We are incredibly proud to announce that our upcoming concert features "Mother of a Revolution!" by Omar Thomas—the powerful tribute to LGBTQ+ history that was recently banned by the Watertown School Board.

Artistry, history, and the hard work of these musicians deserve to be heard. Join us as we play this incredible piece loud, proud, and exactly as it was meant to be experienced. 🏳️‍🌈✨

May is observed as ALS Awareness Month in the United States, dedicated to raising funds, supporting families, and advancing research for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (often known as Lou Gehrig's disease). Members of our production team had the honor of attending an ALS event at the Indiana State House last week. Advocates, caregivers, and individuals living with ALS gathered to share testimonies, meet with lawmakers, and raise awareness for the neurodegenerative disease.
The cross stitch in the photo was hand-made by one of the beautiful souls in attendance living with ALS. We will have materials on hand at each performance to help raise awareness for ALS and will have a representative from ALS United Indiana connecting with our cast as well as being available to answer questions about ALS at select performances.

Tuesdays with Morrie is a story detailing the author’s visits to see his professor, Morrie, who was sentenced to death by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a disease that targets the neurological system. Going up against the clock, the professor wanted to give his last class about “Life’. Both the teacher and the student agreed to meet every Tuesday where they discuss issues that most people are facing in their daily life.

Help us spread the word about this heartwarming story.

Performances are June 5-14 at Broadway United Methodist Church
