Just heard another horror story….. and words of advice for wedding couples……

One thing I always tell wedding couples… PLEASE make sure you have a contract with your DJ (or honestly any wedding vendor) before you send money.

A contract is there to protect YOU on one of the biggest days of your life. It should clearly line out expectations, services being provided, timelines, cancellation terms, and explain deposits/payment policies. Most deposits are NON-refundable, so make sure you actually receive and review a contract BEFORE sending money. (Yes, I repeated the sending money statement).

Also, an invoice is NOT a contract.

Whether a DJ operates as a sole proprietor or as a full business/LLC, there is nothing wrong with either model. But the contract should include the LEGAL NAME and ADDRESS of the person or business you are trusting with your wedding day. If something goes wrong and a DJ doesn’t show up or starts acting weird, you can’t realistically take legal action against a made-up name with no actual information behind it.

Please don’t rely on verbal promises for your wedding day. Good vendors should have no issue providing a written agreement. There are way too many affordable programs and booking systems nowadays that we use that already include built-in contract features for clients.

If someone is unwilling to provide a contract, I would seriously question why.

For all my wedding couples 👰🤵

I came across a really cool vendor today at one of my events — High Five Customs, LLC — and had to share!

They specialize in custom pieces for any event, including:
✨ Laser engraving
✨ 3D printing
✨ And a ton of other unique creations

Their pricing was super reasonable, and the quality stood out right away.

Some of my favorites were the custom vases, etched coasters, tumblers and table toppers — perfect for wedding decor, gifts, or favors.

If you’ve got an idea in mind, they can probably make it happen. The sky is the limit!
