A couple weekends ago, I found this beautiful antique piece at the Antique Festival in downtown Franklin. Vase? Bowl? Honestly… I’m still not sure what it officially is, but I fell in love with it instantly.
Originally, I planned to use it for my wood flowers (and I still will eventually), but today it became the home for my Mother’s Day fresh cuts instead.
One of my favorite little floral tricks is using trimmed stems…the ones that would normally get discarded, to create a natural grid inside the bowl to help support the flowers. It’s simple, sustainable, and everything falls into place.
If I were designing this for a client, I’d definitely add more blooms and greenery for fullness, but for a fresh Mother’s Day bouquet, I think it turned out soft, artistic, and charming in its own way.
Now I’m even more excited for all the wildflowers I planted this season. I can already picture the arrangements they’ll become. 🌿✨
