Zack Ekstrom is one of Idaho’s rising voices in rodeo announcing, bringing a blend of authenticity, competitor insight, and hometown pride to every performance. A Pocatello native, Ekstrom grew up just 30 minutes from Idaho Falls, and his connection to the War Bonnet Round Up runs deep. He first entered the arena as a calf roping contestant, competing at the War Bonnet for years before ever picking up a microphone.

His path to announcing began unexpectedly. After years of competing through high school, college, and the pro‑rodeo circuit, Ekstrom found himself losing the competitive spark. When he was asked to announce a small high school rodeo, he discovered a new passion, one that felt “very natural” from the first moment he stepped behind the mic.

In the year that followed, Ekstrom announced around 25 rodeos across Idaho, quickly building a reputation for his energetic personality and his ability to connect contestants with the crowd. His talent and work ethic caught the attention of PRCA announcer Kade Rogge, who became both a mentor and a professional influence. Their friendship, forged while working together at a livestock sale barn, opened the door for Ekstrom’s first professional announcing opportunity: returning to the War Bonnet Round Up not as a competitor, but as a rover, the dynamic, on‑the‑ground announcer who moves through the arena to interview athletes and bring fans closer to the action.

Ekstrom describes the War Bonnet as “an iconic rodeo in Idaho and the western states,” and stepping into a production role at his home rodeo marks a major milestone in his emerging career. With his background as a competitor, his natural stage presence, and his deep respect for the sport’s history, Zack Ekstrom represents the next generation of rodeo announcers and a proud Idaho voice shaping the future of the War Bonnet Round Up.

A well-known voice behind the mic at Idaho's Oldest Rodeo, Marty Campbell

Marty Campbell is a veteran PRCA rodeo announcer whose deep knowledge of the sport, decades of production experience, and unmistakable passion have made him one of the most respected voices in rodeo. A former saddle bronc rider, Campbell qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo twice and won the Oregon State Saddle Bronc Championship before a catastrophic neck injury in 1996 ended his competitive career.

In 2016, Campbell received one of the PRCA’s highest honors, the Excellence in Broadcast Journalism Award, a career‑defining moment he describes as one of his greatest achievements.

With more than 25 years behind the microphone, Marty Campbell brings unmatched storytelling, insider knowledge, and heartfelt enthusiasm to every performance, making him an invaluable part of the War Bonnet Round Up production team.

The Voice of Idaho's Oldest Rodeo, Kade Rogge

Kade Rogge is a seasoned PRCA rodeo announcer whose voice has become synonymous with high‑energy performances across the West.
Though he travels to more than 30 rodeos each year, Kade has publicly stated that the War Bonnet Round Up is his favorite, calling it “a living, breathing thing” built by the people behind the scenes and the Idaho Falls community.

His announcing career began in Idaho, where he and longtime colleague Drew Taylor cut their teeth working nearly 90 performances in a single summer at the Cody Nite Rodeo, an early proving ground that shaped both of their careers.
Today, Kade is known for his sharp knowledge of the sport, his ability to elevate every moment in the arena, and his deep respect for the athletes and stock contractors who make rodeo possible.

His presence at the War Bonnet Round Up continues to help define the rodeo’s identity as one of the most electric and community‑rooted events in the region.

🇺🇸 MEMORIAL DAY IN IDAHO FALLS 🇺🇸
There’s something different… something deeper… about Memorial Day here in Idaho Falls.

In a town where patriotism isn’t a performance, it’s a way of life, this day carries a weight that settles right into your chest. You feel it in the quiet moments at the memorials, in the rows of flags moving with the wind, in the faces of veterans who stand a little taller, and in the families who gather to remember the ones who never made it home.

Here, Memorial Day isn’t just a holiday.
It’s a promise.
A thank you.
A sacred pause.

Idaho Falls shows up, with respect, with gratitude, with community, to honor the men and women who gave everything so the rest of us could live free. And standing among the flags, the monuments, and the people who care so deeply… you’re reminded that freedom is never free, and remembrance is never optional.

Today, we honor the fallen.
We honor their families.
And we honor the legacy they left behind, one we are humbled to carry forward.

🇺🇸 We remember. We respect. We stand together.
