The Marissa Murrow Act (HB 2369) officially went into effect on July 1, 2026.
Oklahoma began requiring Event Bartender Licenses, in person alcohol service training, and new compliance rules for event venues under the Marissa Murrow Act
đź“… Effective date details.
•The Act was passed to close a loophole in alcohol service at private event venues.
•Its provisions including the new Event Bartender License and mandatory in person training became enforceable starting July 1, 2026.
•After that date, event venues must ensure all alcohol servers meet the new licensing and training requirements.
🧭 What changed on July 1, 2026
•Event bartenders must hold an Event Bartender License.
•Training must be in person through an ABLE approved provider.
•Venues must maintain proof of training onsite.
•Overservice enforcement at private events is strengthened.
