✨ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ✨
This month, we're proud to shine our Employee Spotlight on Blake Skidmore!
A native of Russellville, Alabama, Blake graduated from Belgreen High School in 2017 before continuing his education at Northwest Shoals Community College. He later earned a Bachelor's degree in Entertainment Business with a minor in Digital Media Production in January 2023. After interning with the VBC during the summer of 2022, Blake discovered his passion for the industry and joined the team full-time as an Event Manager immediately following graduation.
"One of my favorite things about working at the VBC is that no two days are ever the same," Blake shared. "There's always something new happening, and it's rewarding to help bring events to life for our community."
When reflecting on his favorite VBC memory, Blake recalled working backstage during the George Jones: Still Playing Possum tribute show in 2023.
"I was able to work backstage during that event and help make sure the artists had everything they needed throughout the day," he said. "Getting the chance to assist the artists and help them feel comfortable while they were here was a really memorable experience."
Outside of work, Blake enjoys spending time with friends, attending concerts, and making regular trips home to Russellville to visit his family and his dog, Teddy.
