Scenes from St. Michaels. ⚓️

This season of pause has allowed us to revisit much of our portfolio, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland has cemented itself as one of our dearest locations. Grateful for clients turned dear friends, Jacqueline & David, for introducing us to this beautiful place in 2019.

There were a few directions we could have taken with Abbey and Mete’s highlight film. The grandeur of Istanbul and the beauty of Çırağan Palace can carry a film all on their own. But once we left Turkey, we knew we could go much deeper. The beauty would speak for itself. So what story could we tell that really shows who Abbey and Mete are? Who their family is?

This carousel picks up after the recap intro, and it slows down on purpose.

Mete opened his vows in Turkish - completely natural to him, and as an editor, I loved it immediately. It was the perfect way to introduce our Turkish groom. And the specific words he chose, “Abbey, my dear Love” (yes, we learned a little Turkish for this edit) dove us straight into the heart of this love story. He continued by talking about her family and the bond they share. That sequence is probably one of my favorites I’ve ever put together, because if there’s anything I love more than beautiful settings, it’s introducing the viewer to beautiful people.

That thread runs through their entire film. Family. The serendipity of falling for someone whose background looks nothing like yours, and finding that love is the common language anyway. Sacrificial love - “I will go anywhere and everywhere for you.” And humor - “How are we gonna do the dance? I DON’T KNOW.”

We have a little announcement. KEJ Productions is now KEJ Films. *tadaaaa Most of you already call us “Kedge” (our favorite) or simply “K-E-J” anyway, so really this is just us finally catching up to you. Same folk behind the brand, same heart, same commitment to making films that actually mean something. Finally a name that makes sense and probably LONG overdue...like...10 years overdue. 🙃

To be honest, “Productions” always felt a little corporate for the service we provide, even for our corporate and brand clients. Yes, there’s true production behind our work, but at our core we’re telling stories, preserving moments, and making something people will return to. “KEJ Films” has always lived in our chest. It just took us a minute to put it on the door.

So hey, we’re Kaleb and Elaine. Husband and wife. Founders of KEJ. Thank you for taking this journey with us.

Valentine’s Day. Two days after our own anniversary, we got to celebrate these CJ & Brittany.
There was so much woven into their celebration that felt personal and familiar —the blending and honoring of their cultures, the subtle nods to the things they love (the Marvel cakes… come on!), the music curation. It’s those kind of details that made this wedding feel undeniably theirs.

The design was absolutely beautiful. A team of incredible artisans led by created a space that invited all of us not only to celebrate their love, but to reflect on our own. Being trusted with CJ & Brittany’s wedding cinematography means the world; especially on a weekend that already holds so much meaning for us.

We’re so excited to dive in further to their gorgeous weekend. For now, the Next Day Teaser.

New Orleans wrapped Bethanie & Chike in reverence and rhythm. Their celebration took us through some of the city’s most iconic locations — from Maison Metier to Hotel Peter & Paul, a vibrant second line down St. Charles Ave., and finally to the tented celebration at Elms Mansion.

Nigerian and African American traditions were woven together with intention, honor, and so much love. We deeply relate to what it means to blend cultures and traditions, and seeing them embrace each other’s heritage reminds us why celebrations like this move us the most.

What an incredible way to start our year. There’s so much more to see and celebrate from this beautiful union, but for now, enjoy their Next Day Teaser!

From the moment we connected with Abbey and Mete, we knew their wedding would become a defining memory for us. Kaleb and I loved the process of this edit, taking extra care to tell the story of their love while highlighting the incredible beauty of Istanbul. Sound design like the wind sweeping over the Bosphorus, the water, the chimes of the chandeliers, and the Turkish vocal woven into the soundtrack were all intentional choices.
