While we will continue to post advertisements for our upcoming classes, workshops and gatherings, it is not because we do not deeply feel the guilt, shame and helplessness of what’s happening in our country - it is because in order to care for our community, we need to employ JOY and REST as radical acts of resistance. This administration is intentionally trying to spin you out to be so exhausted you comply. Understand that what is happening in the Twin Cities never was or will be about our safety from undocumented citizens, it is about this administration’s power and control over educated voters, namely the opposition.
Our upcoming Brick & Mortar project is a physical Radical Act of Resistance - a hyper local and independently women-owned food store where we can name every single source so you can choose what you put in your bodies to care for yourself, your family and your community.
What you will never see from us is reposting traumatic images or videos that are happening in other people’s cities. What you will find through our newsletters and events are a like-minded community who deeply cares for each other - physically and mentally prepared for the happenstance that we find ICE on the streets and suburbs of Boston because our Mayor got our President’s panties in a bunch - not because our streets are laden with dangerous immigrant criminals.
Beyond your “Be the Light in the Darkness” posts, we hope that if you are not nodding your head and snapping your fingers when you read posts like these - and fiercely supporting small businesses that deeply invest in community care - you’ll consider some things that you can quietly ponder at home and perhaps reframe how you show up for marginalized communities right here on the South Shore of Massachusetts.
Your Dollars are Your Voting Power. The oligarch’s who are profiting off of this war machine don’t need any more of your pennies. Vote Wisely.
