Houston Diwali The Festival of Lights is a state of mind: evoking prayers, festivities & the buzz of the marketplace. Houston Diwali is a FREE outdoor FESTIVAL this year!

This Mela (“Festival”) is the largest celebration of Diwali in Houston, at the newest venue in Sugarland - the heart of the Indo-American community. ZEE DIWALI MELA will feature multi stages of breathtaking Indian Classical and Bollywood Entertainment, exotic Fire Dancers, shimmering Fashion Show, dazzling Fireworks, Kids Rides, and a Bazaar of Clothing, Jewelry, and spicy Indian Street Food. The

Grand Finale will be performed by Bappi Lahiri! He popularized the use of synthesized disco music in Indian cinema. A 90’ x 200’ Texas-shaped screen will constantly display upclose glimpses of the entertainment, audience reactions, bazaar, and sponsors. The Festival of Lights is a state of mind - evoking prayers, festivities, and the buzz of the marketplace. HOUSTON DIWALI a free outdoor FESTIVAL: plaza brimming with Fashion / Jewelry / Décor Stalls and Street Food Vendors. Apsaras (Heavenly Nymphs) greeting with Tilak, Rangoli (Indian Art) Mehendi (Henna Tattoos), Face Painting, Photo Booths, Parade of Rikshaws, Hindu Gods Procession, and a 5001 diya Maha Arti (candlelit mass prayers). Massive stage entertainment features a cultural explosion of Bollywood, Folk and Semi-Classical Dances. Comedy the Crazy Masala Crew, and Live Concert by Bollywood Sensation Hamsika Iyer with soul illuminating fireworks finale! Houstonians get ready for the festival of festivals – DIWALI! Halo Re Halo!
