Every now and then the Mahjong Sisters change out of their MJ T-shirts to enjoy a relaxing lunch together 🍵

Then we rush back home to squeeze in a few rounds 🀄️ before dinner time 🫢

Today MJS and friends played Singapore style mahjong which includes 4 additional animal tiles.

If you draw an animal, you immediately reveal it and get a replacement tile. The animals are extra points if you win. If you draw the chicken + centipede or the cat + rat, you get instant payouts.

Singapore mahjong also gives instant payouts for kongs. The extra twist of instant payouts and animal tiles make the game unpredictable and fun. You could be losing your hand but still win big just from animals and kongs.

Mahjong has such a rich cultural history, and it was so meaningful to share that in a way that brought people together. Watching players bond, cheer each other on, and genuinely fall in love with the game reminded us why we do what we do.

Last night in downtown, we had the absolute pleasure of teaching a mahjong lesson to a professional group celebrating AAPI Heritage Month, and WOW! what a night it was 🀄✨

The Harry Winston mahjong set is gorgeous 😍 We love the design and the feel of the tiles. So much thought in creating each piece.

What an exquisite experience to play w these beautiful Harry Winston tiles🤩 If you look closely, the icons were shaped to be gem-like! Dots were diamonds and bamboos emeralds. We esp love the white dragon ones which depict the Harry Winston doors. Thanks to our friend for sharing them 🥰

Had the best time sharing our love for mahjong w these sweet friends/neighbors. A couple of them played American style before so they picked up the game real fast. There were a few “aha!” moments, a little friendly competition, and lots of encouragement. We can’t wait to hear about their next neighborhood sesh 😉

Such a blast sharing Chinese style MJ w our friend’s neighbors and friends. Some of them already know American style MJ so we got to compare notes and swap a few “aha” moments. It was great to see them swiftly adjust their strategy to Chinese style. What a lovely afternoon of laughter, asian snacks, and tile shuffling 🤗
