Yesterday evening I was incredibly privileged to get to compete with some amazing chefs in Houston. Though I didn’t win, I took 3rd place behind Alex Padilla of The Original Ninfas and Paul Friedman from Peli-Peli. Many congratulations to Alex who won himself a trip to New York to compete against other chefs on the show, The Chew.

Taco themed and my entry: Smoked beef cheeks braised in Saint Arnold Amber (turned into carne guisada), a steamed quail egg, queso blanco with green chile, pickled poblano/radish and topped with lime pepper on a homemade tortilla.
