It was recently brought to my attention that another balloon arch was set up for an event, and I’ve received a couple of messages comparing their work to ours and saying ours was “better.” I just want to address that for a second. ♥️
First and foremost, I will NEVER be for tearing down another small business to build mine up. There is room for all of us! We have multiple nail salons, hairstylists, photographers, doctors, restaurants—you name it—in the same town. Balloon businesses are no different, I understand it’s new but it’s no different! Different businesses offer different styles, prices, and experiences, and that is completely okay. I will always do my best to support others chasing their goals, too!
I also hear from time to time that our prices are too high, and I completely understand that we may not fit everyone’s budget. And that is okay, too. There will never be hard feelings for choosing another business that better fits what you're looking for.
But I do want to explain what you're paying for when you book with us, because it is so much more than “blowing up some balloons.” 🎈
This is time that I take away from my family. We spend HOURS creating mockups, communicating with our clients, making changes, and making sure the design is exactly what they envisioned. Just inflating and preparing the amount of balloons needed for one setup can take 2–3 hours. Then we load everything, drive to the venue, unload, build the backdrop, install the balloons and props, make sure every detail is right, leave for the duration of the event, come back afterward, break everything down, reload it, drive home, and unload again.
That time adds up—and that time is precious to me.
Our prices aren't what they are because we're “rolling in the dough” from what we charged. 😂 They're based on our supplies, equipment, travel, preparation, experience, and most importantly, our time.
So please—support the balloon business you love. Support the one that fits your budget. Support the one whose style fits your vision. There is room for all of us. ♥️
And please don't tear down someone else's work as a way of complimenting ours. You can support us without putting someone else down. I promise that compliment will mean so much more to me. 👌🏻🎈
