I grew up going to church with one of the handsome men who got married tonight. It meant so much to get to paint their reception and capture a night of an overwhelming amount of joy. Thank you Jordan and Nolan for having me! You love each other so well. It’s inspiring. .

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude to serve our guests for private events held in the Crystal Ballroom. The Crystal Ballroom is a 1913 ballroom located in the heart of downtown Houston’s historic Rice Hotel. Originally the capitol of the Republic of Texas, this is one of Houston's most unique and historic landmarks. The ballroom is 5000 square feet, has magnificent 35-foot ceilings, spectacular murals, chandeliers, mahogany doors, with a stunning patio overlooking downtown. It’s the best place in town to have a wedding, corporate event or charity gala.

Ballroom servers assist in providing our guests with an exceptional experience through seamless and over the top professional service. Job responsibilities include:
-Greeting guests with a genuine, upbeat and friendly welcome.
-Anticipating, identifying and fulfilling guest needs and clarifying special orders.
-Run food from the kitchen to the banquet hall on demand.
-Assist with food and table prep before the event begins.
-Set up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling performance.
-Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers and other needs.
-Communicate with banquet supervisor as well as other servers and event organizers.
-Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
-Open wine and take drink orders.
-Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks.
-Working with other staff members and having a servant mindset (it comes naturally to help other people).
-Staying calm under pressure and able to think on your feet if obstacles arise.
-Completing all opening, running and closing duties quickly and accurately.
-Performing cleaning tasks and help set up and breakdown for each event.
-Learning and consistently adhering to food safety and sanitation procedures.
Qualifications:
-Food Handlers / TABC Certification in required states.
-Excellent customer service skills.
-Ability to be teachable, coachable, and to take constructive feedback.
-Gets along well with others and has positive personality.
-Multitasking skills and time management skills/sense of urgency.
-Dresses for success and is well groomed.
-Has integrity, does the right thing when no one is looking.
-Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 lbs.
-Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
-Professional and friendly, even in tough situations.
