Partners with Heart & Soul Outreach Ministries to serve food and provide toiletries for over 100 homeless attendees during an outdoor service on Nov. 29th
HOUSTON, TX (November 18, 2020) - Blessties USA and the HOODIES4HEALING foundation is partnering with Heart & Soul Outreach Ministries to host a fundraising service for the homeless on Sunday, November 29thfrom 9 am to 12 noon. Evangelists Wayne and Andrea Ormond will be delivering an inspirational sermon for this outside event that will be held right behind Minute Maid Park in the parking lot across from the Star of Hope in downtown. A blue tent and a cross will mark the exact spot of the event for anyone who wants to donate, volunteer or attend. Around 10:30, after the sermon, a hot thanksgiving meal will be served along with 100 backpacks filled with toiletries for the homeless.
Blessties USA is a Christian apparel & accessories boutique located in Cypress, TX. Open since 2015, Owner, RoseMary Tucker, has been spreading her love for Jesus Christ by designing spiritual t-shirts and hoodies. Each design she creates has a story of encouragement, love and positive thinking. You can find a wide range of fashion items in Tucker’s store from “WALK BY FAITH” or “I AM HEALED” tees to jumpsuits to a wide array of face masks and much more!
Tucker, founder of HOODIES4HEALING, a 501c3 organization that was spawned from her daughter, Dyanna, who developed a cyst in her brain that needed immediate surgery. Tucker raised over $60k by selling hoodies and afterwards “made a promise to God that after her daughter’s successful surgery, she would spend her time helping others in need continuously.” From the Hoodies4Healing foundation she has built a brand that continuously aims to help those in need and “pay it forward.”
Tucker will continue raising funds to help the homeless with her new HOODIES4HOMELESS initiative, selling hoodies through www.hoodies4healing.com where a proceed of every hoodie sold will be used to serve the homeless.
Evangelists Wayne and Andrea Ormond, who married in 1995, have been ministering to the homeless since 2000. While they were both attending divinity school together, they learned how to witness to people, oftentimes in the streets during the night. When asked what motivated them to reach out to the homeless. The Ormonds simultaneously stated, “About 20 years ago, we started ministering to the homeless and going out every Sunday because a homeless guy wanted to pray to God in church and was not allowed in. God said to ‘Come as you are!’” They also stated that they are “Reaching the world one soul at a time, through Jesus Christ”
A kick-off fundraising event with the theme, “Blessties Being a Blessing,” will be held at Blessties on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 8am- 12 pm where donations can be dropped off. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods, toiletries such as toilet paper, tissues, women’s personal hygiene items, socks and/or gift cards to buy these items. Coffee, donuts, bagels, juice and water will be provided. Free masks will also be provided.
Due to the all of the negativity and hardship that American has faced in 2020, especially the devastating effects of COVID-19, Tucker will continue promoting positivity through her hoodies and aims to “lift someone’s spirit” by doing so.

FIRST VIRTUAL iGOTTA STORY CONTEST THIS NOVEMBER
HOUSTON, TX ( September 3, 2020) – The Real Reel International Film Festival (RRIFF), a Houston-based event, plans to launch its first ever virtual iGotta Story Contest from November 19-22, 2020. Consisting of numerous panels, conferences and awards, this event’s purpose is to create a dialogue around creative pivots recently in the film industry.
Completely virtual, this event will honor COVID-19 restrictions and also promote filmmakers and content creator’s work. This is the first event from RRIFF, whose mission is to focus on storytelling and how to do it effectively. "From your every day phone vloggers to Hollywood film producers, RRIFF will engage and promote not just a New Normal, but a New Hollywood, says RRIFF Creative Director, Michelle Renee’ Harden.
The event promises to host panel discussions led by the industry's best leaders in filmmaking and content creators as well as keynote speakers that are internationally recognized, best-selling authors and actors that will share strategies to take your story to the world!
RRIFF encourages filmmakers and content creators to submit their works not only to showcase their talent, but there will be awards that total up to over $5,000 for first place winner (cash & prizes).
The categories for the submissions are Short Film- COVID story, Short Film - Animation, Documentary, and Feature Film.
