Where have all the flowers gone? There’s an ‘abrupt halt in the entire floral world’

This article does a great job explaining the dilemmas we are facing regarding event flowers. At Fervent Designs, we navigate our clients through the wedding and event planning process. And this is part of it.

Everyone working in the world of flowers is going through this struggle. But, we are working together daily to produce beautiful events.

My advice to couples and clients:
1. Hire a planner and follow the instructions and timeline of your planner and designer.
2. Be flexible. Every flower on your list may not be available for your event.
3. Expect price increases! The more specific you are, the higher the cost. Remember the rules of supply and demand. Demand is high, and supply is low. Also, WHITE flowers are one of the most impacted in the wedding world.
3. Trust the process! Allow the professionals to lead.
4. Relax! Your event will be amazing and beautiful.

The photographs of trashed flowers still haunt florists. In 2020, when much of the world went into lockdown because of the pandemic, many flower farms’ crops were discarded.
