🚨🚨 Attention to all people who
follow Shekere 🚨🚨
I normally don’t bring private business matters to social media, but I believe musicians and entertainment professionals deserve to be treated with respect and clear communication.
Shekere Latin Band had several confirmed performance dates at Baker St. Pub Sugarland.
When I contacted the person responsible for booking to verify our upcoming shows, I was informed that Frank Lopez (Manager) wanted all of our dates removed. No one from the venue contacted me beforehand, gave me an explanation, or formally notified us that our performances had been canceled.
According to the messages I received, the booking contact also did not know the reason and agreed that the situation had not been handled appropriately.
As a professional band, we reserve dates, coordinate musicians, prepare repertoire, and sometimes turn down other opportunities based on confirmed bookings. Canceling scheduled performances without notice directly affects every musician involved.
Throughout our time performing there, we fulfilled our commitments professionally. We played three one-hour sets, followed the agreed schedule, and consistently gave our best to entertain the venue’s guests. If there was ever a concern, the professional approach would have been to communicate it directly and give us an opportunity to address it.
This post is not intended to attack anyone. It is simply a request for accountability, transparency, and basic professional courtesy. Musicians’ time and work have value. We deserve proper communication when decisions are made that affect our livelihood.
I remain open to a respectful conversation and a clear explanation from Baker St. Pub management.
