Late night lights and that newly engaged glow β€” Sarah + Alvin made downtown feel like a movie set. Dancing + twirling came naturally for these two, and it was so much fun to capture every moment πŸ–€

Though it’s hard to pick a singular favorite moment from our weekend celebrating Sarah + Alvin, the way used design to honor both the bride and groom’s cultures through out the entire wedding day had to be a highlight.

The pair tied the knot beneath a towering oak tree outside Sandlewood Manor, framed by arrangements made of flowers from Syria, as well as cherry blossoms.

The reception that followed was the most beautiful and immersive multi-cultural celebration. The dance floor opened with Chinese + Syrian flags inviting guests to the floor, and appearances included a blend of Zaffa performers and Chinese lion dancers to get the party started!

Happiest 1 year wedding anniversary Bridhi + Francisco πŸ–€

When your love story spans over a decade long, you know the celebrations are going to be extraordinary.

A year ago we spent a weekend celebrating Bridhi and Francisco’s love story that started in the summer of 2012. The pair got married right on their 10 year anniversary β€” and through every celebration, Francisco couldn’t take his eyes off of his bride.

(and we can’t blame him!)

We actually ended up including a short clip that Francisco recorded on his phone in their wedding film β€” a sweet touch that we don’t do very often!

It was such an honor capturing their love a year ago.

This must be life la vie en rose. 🌸

If you know Simi + Nipun, you know that they couldn’t be easier to celebrate. Every moment from their wedding weekend was full of joyβ€”even their group family photos were so fun to orchestrate.

Post ceremony photos can be a beast to tackleβ€”especially with a large family. Simi’s family did a shake of the head photo that was super fun to capture. It was so great to fit that in during their family portrait session!

I’ve made it to the top 50! πŸŽ‰ Among thousands of submissions worldwide, one of my photos was chosen for Junebug Weddings 2024 Best of the Best Engagement Photo Contest. What’s made this extra special is Junebug’s intent to recognize love in all forms and the skills and eye needed to best capture couples regardless of the couple’s photogenic experience (or lack there of). As Preetha put it, β€œDecades and hundreds of pictures of us historically have captured pure awkwardness…you, dear Aisha, captured our joy.” Tho they showed up to the shoot nervous and unsure of themselves, I was confident from the start that we’d be having an awesome shoot! And so here we are on the top 50 πŸ€—.

In my years behind the lens, I’ve most enjoyed capturing beauty that I find so obvious but society seems to neglect. In my heart, the most important feedback is always from the couple. But this recognition is truly heartening. Huge thanks to Junebug for acknowledging the beauty and love in every couple alongside the photographers capturing it.
