Floral and Event Design Assistant Intern (Hourly, With Potential for Part-Time Hire)

Gigi’s China Cabinet is a boutique event and floral design studio known for creating timeless, elevated celebrations. We’re looking for a Floral and Design Assistant Intern to join our growing team! This is an hourly, hands-on internship with the opportunity for a part-time paid position for the right candidate.
What You’ll Do:
-Assist with flower processing (cleaning, trimming, hydrating fresh blooms)
-Support lead designers with prep work and basic floral tasks
-Assist during consultations and learn how to guide design meetings
-Help pack, load, and organize florals and decor for events
-Assist with on-site setup and breakdown of event installations
-Maintain studio cleanliness and organization
-Run errands or assist with deliveries (if you have a valid driver’s license)
Ideal Candidate:
-Passionate about flowers, design, and the event industry
-Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
-Physically comfortable lifting and moving buckets, working on your feet
-Has consistent access to transportation to and from our studio
-Available for weekday shifts and occasional weekends (especially during wedding
season)
Bonus if You:
-Have experience in florals, events, or hospitality (not required)
-Are familiar with flower types, tools, or basic design techniques
-Have a creative eye or interest in visual aesthetics
Internship Details:
Hours: 8–15 hrs/week to start (flexible schedule)
Pay: $18 per hour, based on experience
Growth: Opportunity to move into at least a part-time position with additional
responsibilities
