Community Spotlight 💙

Today we’re giving a sweet shout-out to The Pastry Corner right here in Houlton.
If you’ve ever stopped in, you already know this bakery offers an incredible variety of desserts that are as beautiful as they are delicious. From cookies and pastries to specialty treats, there’s always something that catches your eye (and keeps you coming back for more).
The Pastry Corner first became well-known for their amazing whoopie pies, but their cakes have truly become something special. From birthdays to weddings and everything in between, they create cakes that not only look stunning but taste just as good.
In fact, one of our Community Impact Alliance members shared that her daughter now grown and living away still insists on having her birthday cake come from The Pastry Corner in Houlton. That says everything.
Beyond the desserts, what really stands out is the heart behind it all. The Pastry Corner is always giving back and supporting the community. They generously donated a cake for our Community Impact Alliance cakewalk, which was a huge success, and we are so grateful for their support.
It’s places like this that make our community feel a little more special.

WE NEED YOUR HELP, COMMUNITY! 🎆

Our Midnight Madness Basket Raffle is officially underway, and we are currently looking for businesses, organizations, and community members willing to donate baskets, gift certificates, products, services, or themed items for the raffle.

Last year’s raffle was an incredible success and helped support All Shires Eve and community events enjoyed by so many local families. We would love to make this year even bigger and better, but we truly cannot do it without community support.

Right now, we are still actively collecting donations and would greatly appreciate any contribution, large or small. ❤️

Businesses that donate will:
⭐ Be recognized publicly
⭐ Be featured on our page
⭐ Have their basket/business promoted leading up to the event

Today we are giving a BIG shout-out to Sweet Peas Pantry — and trust us… this woman can cook.

There were way too many amazing dishes to even capture in a few photos. From full meals to desserts, everything she creates is made with care, flavor, and portions that absolutely do not disappoint.

Her food? Incredible.�Her ice cream? Honestly… next level. The kind people talk about long after they’ve had it.

Sweet Peas Pantry also goes above and beyond for the community. She generously donated to our 13 Days of Halloween auction, and her item alone went for $80 — a true reflection of how much people love and support what she does.

Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also one of the kindest, most welcoming people you’ll meet. Always smiling, always giving, and always showing up for others.

She offers catering, homemade meals, baked goods, and more — and even has a convenient setup at her location where you can stop by and grab meals from a refrigerator in her Amish shed. It’s such a unique and thoughtful way to make her food accessible to the community.

Today we want to give a very special shout-out to Kimberley Maguire of Sundara Beauty Med Spa and Harmony Yoga Studio.
Originally from California, Kim has brought over 33 years of experience as a licensed esthetician to Houlton, along with a deep passion for health, wellness, and beauty. What she has created here is something truly unique ,not just for our town, but for this entire area.

At Sundara Beauty Med Spa, Kim is known for helping people feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. She has truly transformed and cared for so many, bringing out natural beauty while educating and supporting her clients every step of the way. She is highly trained and continues to invest in ongoing education, always learning from the best to bring the highest level of care and expertise to our community.

Kim brings a high-quality, elevated experience in beauty and wellness to Houlton something that simply hasn’t been available here before while still making it accessible and affordable. That balance is rare, and it speaks to her heart for helping others feel their best, both inside and out.

Before opening Harmony Yoga Studio, it had been a dream of hers for many years. She has practiced yoga extensively and has trained with respected and well-known instructors, gaining experience through travel and training in different parts of the country and beyond. She generously shared her passion locally by offering classes at the rec center on a donation basis, giving back to charity and making yoga accessible to everyone. That kind of commitment and generosity does not go unnoticed.
Now, with Harmony Yoga Studio, she has created a welcoming space where people can slow down, connect, and grow ,whether they are just beginning or continuing their journey.

In addition, the boutique inside Sundara Med Spa offers a thoughtfully curated collection of unique, designer pieces that reflect Kim’s background in fashion and aesthetics. As a former runway model, she brings a trained eye for beauty, style, and presentation into everything she does. And beyond all of that, Kim herself is truly beautiful inside and out something you can feel the moment you meet her.

Kim isn’t just building a business ,she’s building opportunity, accessibility, confidence, and well-being within our community.

Today we want to give a special shout-out to the Houlton Fire Department and Houlton Ambulance/EMT team.
These incredible individuals do so much more than respond to emergencies. They are constantly showing up for our community — volunteering their time, educating others, supporting local events, and always stepping in when help is needed most.
From lifesaving calls to community involvement, they go above and beyond every single day.
We were especially grateful to have them involved in the Community Impact Alliance All Shires event. Their presence, support, and willingness to be part of something that brings our community together does not go unnoticed.
