Celebrating Bob Barr at 93!

Sandy Pines member Lynn Carcione shared a story with us about Bob Barr, who celebrated his 93rd birthday in September and continues to help care for the park.

Bob first worked on the smaller mowing areas that our larger equipment could not reach. When allergies made mowing difficult, he took on another job: painting electric meter posts. Over the years, Bob has painted every electric meter post in Sandy Pines. Now he is back in Phase 1, where he started, doing it all again.

Bob, thank you for the care and pride you continue to put into Sandy Pines. And thank you, Lynn, for sharing his story and photos with us!

Put your experience to work for Sandy Pines!

We are looking for 5–7 members to serve on our new Sandy Pines Facilities & Amenities Advisory Committee.

This committee will work alongside our Maintenance team to review park buildings and amenities, identify potential concerns early, and recommend repairs and priorities to the Board of Directors. The goal is to help care for our facilities and extend their useful life through timely maintenance.

Members must have a relevant professional background, such as:
• General construction or structural engineering
• Electrical and lighting systems
• Plumbing and water systems
• Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning

The committee will begin work in November 2026, with biweekly weekday meetings and facility inspections and reviews between meetings. This is a one-year committee commitment.

We also have openings on other Sandy Pines advisory committees. If you have experience, ideas, and time to contribute, we encourage you to explore those opportunities too.

Interested in serving? The Committee Application is available online or can be picked up at the Administration Office. Return your completed application in person at the Administration Office or email it to [email protected].
