A few favorites from B + T’s August wedding.

A little story not pictured: clean up isn’t usually the most romantic part of a wedding day for me, but this one felt different. When my husband (who always helps me strike) and I returned late that evening, the only people at the end of the night were Barrie, Taylor, and their DJ — playing their final song, Fade Into Me.

From behind the trees, we caught glimpses of their last dance — a quiet, cinematic moment that felt suspended in time. Their story, beginning as high school sweethearts, has the kind of sincerity that quietly endures. I even incorporated a small detail from Taylor’s prom boutonnière into his wedding one — a subtle thread connecting their past to this new chapter.

Standing beside my own husband, the one I met at 19, I couldn’t help but reflect on how love deepens and evolves through the years — from the early days of dreaming together to building a life side by side. It’s a kind of love that feels both timeless and rare.

B + T, it was an honor to be part of such an intentional, heartfelt celebration. 🍓

Still dreaming about this reception setup — velvet linens, slate blue plates, dusty rose candles, and those modern chairs.
Yes, I’m a florist, but I believe the magic happens when all the design details come together. Thoughtful textures, intentional color palettes, and beautiful lighting create an experience you and your guests will always remember.

My sporadic reminder that you CAN achieve large-scale floral design using foam-free mechanics. This ceremony design consisted of an install on a 17’ structure and about 20’ of aisle florals. No foam was used. Instead, we used compostable materials and reusable materials, like chicken wire and moss.

If you’re familiar with my work, I’ve spoken about my sustainability practices in the past.
For those who aren’t familiar with those posts or for those who are new to following me, sustainability has been something I have prioritized (and continue to improve on) through the years since starting my business.

Foam is a mechanic that has been used in the floral design industry for years, and here’s why it’s not a good product to use:

Non-Biodegradable & Microplastic Pollution
Floral foam is made of phenol-formaldehyde, a plastic-based material that does not break down naturally.
When wet, it crumbles into tiny microplastic particles that can end up in water systems, harming marine life and ecosystems.
Toxic Chemicals
Contains formaldehyde and other chemicals that are harmful to both florists and the environment.
When disposed of improperly (e.g., in water or soil), these chemicals can leach into ecosystems, causing long-term damage.
Single-Use Waste
It’s designed for one-time use and then discarded, contributing to landfill waste.
There are no effective recycling methods for floral foam, making it an unsustainable product.

If sustainability is important to you, I urge you to consider working with designers who strive for sustainability in their work.

By working with florists who prioritize sustainability, you are in turn generating less waste, avoiding harmful chemicals, and supporting local and ethical sourcing (more on sustainability with regard to seasonality in upcoming posts!).

By embracing sustainable floral design, couples can make a meaningful impact, ensuring that their special day aligns with their values.

A bouquet of locally grown cosmos, phlox, lisianthus, dahlias, roses, and lilies.
Emily requested lilies be used in her bridal bouquet to pay homage to her mother’s bouquet that included lilies.
While I don’t often use lilies in my designs, I loved being able to create something with flowers that felt meaningful for my bride.
Swipe all the way to see E’s mom’s bouquet!

Though I heavily work with seasonal florals, if there’s something specific that you’re hoping to include in your floral designs, don’t hesitate to ask!

Contemporary, earthy, bold, textural, and striking. A few words I’d use to describe one of my favorite sweetheart tables of 2024 for A+A.
I love getting to work with my couples on their unique visions.

Whether you’re looking for something more classic or more out-of-the-box, designing impactful and intentional works of art is always my goal.
