Based in the Los Angeles area, Raquel Figlo’s passion is creating brand awareness and customer loyalty for her clients. Founder of Raquel Figlo Public Relations, she has worked with a wide array of clientele from fashion lines, and night clubs, to musicians and comedians, receiving testimonials that praise her professionalism, creativity, and forward-thinking concepts. Her upbeat enthusiasm and genuine caring nature raise the bar in customer satisfaction. Raquel weaves together strategic publicity campaigns, influencer outreach, media pitching, and popular social events to fashion a brand’s golden reputation.
Philanthropy
A deep sense of community lies in Raquel’s heart. After college, as a way to build her work experience, she spent several years giving back to her professional community. She joined the boards of the American Advertising Federation (www.ocafed.org) and the American Marketing Association (www.ama.org). She coordinated guest speaking engagements, and social events for both associations. During this time, Raquel 's involvement in philanthropy grew and she fund-raised for local non-profits, planning and coordinating events. Raquel raised a substantial amount of funds for Surfrider, Mauli Ola, and Olive Crest Kids Foundation for six consecutive years.
Raquel continues to work with nonprofits including March of Dimes and was an ambassador for the Women Like Us Foundation (WLUF) http://www.womenlikeusfoundation.organ organization that fights to give a voice to victims of s*x trafficking, and violence against women. Entrepreneurship was in her blood at a young age and so was the love for music.
Music Journalism
With a Masters Degree in Communications and Advertising from California State University Fullerton, 6 years of flourishing work experience, Raquel got her start in the music industry. In 2011 she caught the attention of the world famous Key Club in Hollywood. Raquel's experience in coordinating events for nonprofits paid off when she held the title of Event Manager. She blazed a trail at the Key Club packing the house, night after night, throwing all kinds of events, ranging from concerts, corporate functions to red carpet extravaganzas.
It was here that she made many of the connections that helped lead her to a lucrative career in music journalism. She interviewed some of the biggest names in rock music as a correspondent for a variety of on-and off-line publications such as Rock and Roll Industries Magazine, metalshoprocks.com,heavymetalhill.com, and adrenaline-fueled.com.
Taking that one extra step, Raquel not only conducts the interviews, she finds the interviewees, some of which have been Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Dino Cazares of Fear Factory. Currently, you can find Raquel on her new YouTube Series and podcast,ROCKIN’ RAQUEL” TV!
She continues to interview the biggest names in hard rock and heavy metal, along with industry professionals, providing insight to the music and entertainment industry.
