If you are on Hollywood Beach today and Saturday, you may see the “Guardians of the Reef” deployment happening just offshore.

The City, in partnership with Ocean Rescue Alliance International is deploying 50 custom-designed reef sculptures and habitat modules as part of a first-of-its-kind snorkel-friendly artificial reef system.

Sea Turtle Nesting Season takes place every year from March 1st through October 31st.

During this time, the City of Hollywood’s “Turtle Friendly Lighting Ordinance” is in effect, when the City’s Hatchlings are attracted to light.
