It's a good thing that I decided to print my little business tags with "knitting and more", because I have been making a lot of pot holders and hot pads over the last couple of months, and they've been selling well -- like hotcakes, in fact. :-)
My reason for making them was at first to introduce someone else to a craft they had never tried. They didn't take to it much, but in demonstrating for them, I found the process of hand weaving under a bit of tension to be excellent occupational therapy for my arthritic hands - a good compliment / contrast to the hand knitting that is my predominant occupation.
I stick to plain "tabby" weaving (over-under-one at a time) for sturdiness' sake, and no two are the same color combination.
A couple of customers have mentioned that they would like to give these in quantity during the holiday season. I intend to keep them steadily in stock, but if you know a particular number you need by a particular date, it would be a good idea to let me know as soon as you know.
100% cotton, hand-loomed by me; no two alike.
