It is with bittersweet emotion that my wife, Missy Wacasey and I would like to announce that CreataSpacePlace will close at the end of March in 2026.
It started off as an idea to provide something that we believed would prove to be valuable in the city we love ..”an affordable content creation and celebration destination!
As we look toward to our future, we feel like our greatest desire is to grow into something that is larger and offers more, and we have determined that continuing to operate in our current location would directly compete with our ultimate dream.
It is hard to describe how much we have learned and how much we loved being a part of the business community in our beloved city.
The way the already established and growing businesses community received us and encouraged us was a huge part of CreataSpacePlace’s success.
But nothing made us prouder than the customers who went out of their way to tell us that they appreciated what we offered and how we treated them.
Sometimes both Missy and I considered those words to be the greatest compensation of entrepreneurship.
Pro tip, our business’s greatest growth came after we started sharing what our customers were doing in our space for the people they loved and wanted to celebrate. Theres a lesson in that for sure!
Pro tip number 2, Our friend Shane Evans (famous owner of the Art Theater) once told me and Fernando Lopez jr. in a MentalEdge podcast interview, that he had been given some valuable advice at the beginning of his business ownership journey.
He said someone once told him..”When somebody asks you for something, find a way to say yes”.
Those words would always echo in my mind, when Missy and I would decide that we wanted to err on the side of generosity or stretch what we could offer despite it not always making conventional business sense.
Ironically, that turned out to be our greatest flex!
You see, when you own it, you don’t have to ask anybody if it’s ok to be generous. Just Jesus, and guess what. The answer was always yes from him.
In closing we would like to thank Hobart Indiana, for being Hobart Indiana, a very special community through and through, for being the Home of the Brickies, the home of CreataSpacePLace …and the Home of the Wacasey’s!
