It’s the weekend!! The Appalachian Trail Festival is a huge deal - a combo effort of three AT towns of Round Hill, Bluemont, and Hillsboro. We celebrate all things trail, including a lecture tonight (Friday!) by Nat Geo’s Adventurer of the Year who hiked the Triple Crown three times, artists inspired by the trail, a used gear sale, a silent auction, food and drink, and all kinds of local businesses and organizations that support the AT. Please come check it out on Saturday. It’s free, too!

Because of all the celebrations this weekend, Olive will move over to behind the OSS under the horse mural. That’s where we were for last year’s markets and it’s a great spot. I’ll be there too, so please come say hi!

Well, here we are. Canvas came with one defect and it’s exactly where the roof sags!

Many improvements coming to Olive the flower stand - I’ve bought the grommets, have the plan, just need a little help and time!

Olive the Hillsboro Flower Stand is open. The flowers are moved to the side and staying dry so far. There are some really beautiful, fluffy bouquets here today. You won’t regret brightening your home with one!

Thanks for bearing with me. Happy rainy Saturday!

It’s been two full weeks of heavy flower production from markets to Mothers Day to Gardens in the Gap Tea and even a wedding.

Now it’s 100* on a Monday and my heart is full and the flower cooler is empty.

Thank you to everyone that has supported this little sustainable cut flower business. Thank you to my friends in Lovettsville that were so generous with their gorgeous peonies for Mother’s Day. Thank you to all the happy souls that smiled - and even gave a little squeal - when they looked at the flowers. It lifted my heart every time!

Cheers to more joy coming your way.

A little bouquet practice with the surplus from the weekend. How good it feels to play!

These mock up bouquets have peonies, salvia, lambs ear, anemones, ranunculus, orlaya…all grown right here.

The rest of the day was dirt digging to get some long overdue dahlias in the ground! I wish it hadn’t taken me this long to plant them…but here we are.

Enjoy the light, friends. Just another month until it wanes.

This Saturday is big day in Purcellville.

The Purcellville Farmers Market has its opening day in a new and improved way - from 9-12 in a new location: the parking lot at N Hatcher and Main! You won’t be able to miss it!

Then, at 1pm, the Thrift N Sip is a huge market of retail vendors to kick off gift shopping for mom in style. We’ll be there in the Nichols Hardware Store lot with loads of peonies at all price points! We’ll also have a little side station with blank note cards for the kids to write sweet notes to mom.

Then, on Sunday, we’ll be at the Mother’s Day Brunch at Harvest Gap Brewery from 11 to 1 with even more peonies.

And of course! Olive the flower stand at the Old Stone School will be stocked!

See you soon, friends.

Purcellville Main Street will host its Thrift & Sip event on North 21st Street this Saturday, continuing a series of community events the nonprofit organizes throughout the year to bring residents and visitors into downtown Purcellville.

Is it Cinco de Mayo *already*??

This year is blowing by and we’re here to celebrate every minute of it.

Foaling season is halfway over already, and with it come all the highs and lows, wins and losses, joys and heartbreaks of treating baby horses and their post-partum mother mares. This past week was filled with both extremes and many long, sleepless nights.

But here we are, in a new week with new horses and new flowers. Peony season is hitting its mid-season also, and boy do we have plenty! With a little help from some friends in Lovettsville, we are well stocked with Loudoun-grown peonies for our bouquets last week and this week.

Find your joy, friends. It’s out there.

🍁Happy Thanksgiving from Hillsboro Flower Co. 🤎

We are so grateful for this community and all of the flower-loving, nature-forward people that we’ve met this year.

This season has ended on a high note again and we can’t wait to see you all next year. Starting in April, we’ll be well-stocked with fancy tulips and daffodils again.

Gratefulness can help you live longer, according to Harvard, and if you’re into that, tell us what you’re grateful for in the comments. ⤵️

Happy Friday! We’ve made it to another weekend and it’s time to celebrate.

We can’t make it to the Fruit of the Gap market at Hillsboro’s Music in the Gap tonight or tomorrow the Purcellville Farmers Market tomorrow morning, but we still have flowers! And boy, are they showing off this week.

These market bouquets are $30 each or two for $50 this Labor Day weekend. Get one to make yourself smile and another to charm a friend!

Message me, Emily, to arrange pick up this weekend. We can take credit cards and cash in person and of course Venmo from anywhere.

Dahlias are something special. They’re not here for a long time, but they will take your breath away!
