🐴 Booney has been a longtime supporter of the Franklin County Fair and a dedicated member of the Senior Fair Board. When asked why he serves, his answer is simple: "For the kids."

🏇 Booney is passionate about creating a great fair experience for young people and helping ensure the traditions and opportunities of the fair continue for future generations. If you're on the fairgrounds early in the morning, you might even spot him training harness horses on the track before the day gets underway.

🍑🐶🏁 THE FIRST-EVER CORGI CLASSIC IS COMING TO THE FRANKLIN COUNTY FAIR! 🏁🐶🍑

Mark your calendars for July 21 as Ohio’s most aerodynamic baked potatoes compete for absolutely no chill and all the glory at the inaugural Corgi Classic!

Witness:
🐾 Legs moving at speeds science still refuses to explain
🐾 Intense pre-race negotiations with squirrels who are not participating
🐾 Sudden mid-race career changes (sniffing, mostly sniffing)
🐾 Peak fluff performance with questionable directional control
🐾 At least one corgi abandoning competition to emotionally support a stranger

These low-riding chaos gremlins stand a proud 12 inches tall, but carry the confidence of a dog that pays rent and owns property.

Experience the Eyes of Freedom at the Franklin County Fair

This remarkable traveling memorial honors the extraordinary sacrifice of 23 Ohio service members—22 U.S. Marines and one Navy Corpsman from Lima Company—who gave their lives while serving our nation during the Iraq War in 2005.

Through life-sized portraits and powerful personal stories, the Eyes of Freedom offers visitors a deeply moving opportunity to remember, reflect, and honor these American heroes. More than an exhibit, it is a tribute to courage, service, and the true cost of freedom.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Franklin County Veterans Service Commission for sponsoring this meaningful display and helping bring it back to our community.

While visiting the fair, we encourage you to spend a few moments with this inspiring memorial and pay tribute to the brave men who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

When you step onto any ride during the fair, we want you to focus entirely on having fun! That is why we are proud to partner with Bates Brothers Amusement Company - a team known for their next-level, top-tier safety standards.

📋 Their rides are annually inspected by the State of Ohio, weekly by local officials, and daily by ride managers.
⚙️ The equipment is monitored constantly during fair week and undergoes complete mechanical rebuilds at their specialized Ohio facility during the off season.
