📍Lava River Cave(Lava Tubes) First time exploring the lava tubes in Flagstaff. It starts off with a boulder scrabble down into the cave so be prepared to go slow if that’s not your thing. Saw a few people decide it wasn’t for them and stayed back. Once inside it cools down dramatically to 35 to 45° year round. Great way to beat the heat. It’s a mile long with a left or right turn once you get about half way. I went left and went back what felt like another half mile maybe? There are a few spots that you have to get pretty low to the ground, but most of it you can stand just fine and are focused on not twisting your ankles. I would like to go back to try some different lighting techniques now that i know what the hike is like. If you have been what if you think?
