The Shuford House, built in 1904, is located in the Historic Oakwood district of Hickory and can be rented for weddings, receptions, parties, business meetings and more. The House is rated for up to 115 people; the adjacent gardens include a lovely fountain and pergola. The House is not a drop-in venue. House tours and meetings with staff are available by appointment only. The Gardens are closed t

o the public during private events. When not reserved for a private event, the gardens are open to the public during daylight hours only. The public is reminded that absolutely no pets, no skating, no cycling, and no smoking is allowed at Shuford House & Gardens at any time. Remember - it's November! As a are in effect - Gardens close to community members & the general public at 6 p.m. until March 1st! Only the resident property team, their staff, volunteers, or private/paid & are allowed after hours. And as always: no pets, no smoking, no cycling, no skating, no scooters, and no overnight parking allowed at any time. For the safety of our residents, violators will be reported to the police - so we thank everyone in advance for being good visitors and following the rules & laws!
