A really fun unique wedding. The black and white paisley was stunning, and not the typical way of putting the two colors together. So glad the bride was willing to do something different. It turned out amazing!

Just a reminder to everyone. If you book an event at The Rock Barn or any other event venue for that matter, please remember that dates on the calendar are what we sell. Once you book an event, everyone wanting that date goes somewhere else. Potential customers are turned away. So if you change your mind about having your event but fail to notify the venue, the income potential for that date is gone. Small venues like mine are our livelihoods so what seems like a small insignificant phone call to you determines whether we are profitable or not. If we have paid employees to set up and clean for an event, we paid them for no reason. It is a matter of being courteous and considerate and matters to us who are working hard to make a living. Please notify us as early as possible so our venues don’t sit empty and other events can be scheduled.

In honor of Pioneer Reunion week, I am sharing my favorite Rock Barn story.

When I was a little girl my Pappa led the Pioneer Reunion parade carrying the United States flag several times. Even as a little girl I was beyond proud of the flag and what it stood for, but I was more proud to call Lonnie Peden my grandpa. I was heartbroken when he passed away in 1991…35 years ago. A few years ago I walked out of my house and laying on the porch was a saddle with a note. Apparently Pappa had given the saddle to someone to repair and before they returned it he died. They had forgotten about the saddle for years, but rediscovered it and brought it to me. The note said to place it in The Barn in memory of him. If you have been to The Rock Barn, you know I have lots of stuff with lots of memories and history inside, but the one I treasure most is that saddle and the happy memories it bring to mind of my Pappa, his love for his horse Rocket, and his enjoyment of Pioneer Reunion. Enjoy the weekend everybody!

When checking out venues for your special event, make sure you compare “apples to apples” and know what you are getting for the price. Some venues’ rental fees are for a limited number of hours. At The Rock Barn our rental fees are for the full day and also include a great deal of decor. Our price is one of the best around everyday, but our 10% discount through the end of September and our referral discount for recommending The Rock Barn to your friends makes our price even more appealing!
