Today is Parent Appreciation Day, and as parents ourselves, this one hits close to home.

We have sons… and we have daughters.

And while every child eventually leaves home to build a life of their own, I imagine it’s different in some ways.

With a son, you hope someone comes along who loves him well and becomes part of your family.

With a daughter… you spend years raising this little girl, knowing that one day you’ll place her hand into someone else’s. You teach her to be brave, kind, independent, and strong- all while quietly knowing that the very things you’re nurturing are preparing her to leave.

As a mom, I can’t imagine watching my little girls walk down the aisle without tears.

As a dad, I can’t imagine the strength it takes to walk beside your daughter, remembering the tiny hand that once reached for yours, knowing this is one of the last times you’ll walk her forward before she begins a new chapter.

At The Hendo Ranch, we have a front-row seat to these moments every weekend.

We see the mothers trying not to cry while buttoning the dress.

We see the fathers taking one deep breath before opening the bridal suite door.

We see the parents who spent years sacrificing their time, their energy, their prayers, and yes… often their finances… all to give their children every opportunity and, for one unforgettable day, help make a lifelong dream come true.

It’s never just a wedding.

It’s the celebration of a lifetime of love.
