Project Gratitude; notes of appreciation for HPD in Christmas cards, began with the support of our wonderful Seven Hills Women’s Club! It grew and
expanded to include husbands and members of Seven Hills Sunsetters
as well as the community. (a drop box for cards, in both Seven Hills
and at a local Chiropractor.) Having no envelopes, each of us read
those powerful sentiments of appreciation on both shifts.

The presentations were made in 4 shifts;
Tuesday and Thursday, both 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.
The first group braved the rain, wind and darkness to meet in the
parking lot at 5:40 A.M.! We presented cards to each officer, a Christmas Carol,
a joke and and See’s Lollipops by 6:05 and were back home by 6:45 a.m.
The rain and wind held offand we only experienced joy.

Everyone dressed up like Santa’s helpers and in the afternoon shift we were
invited into the Dispatch room to give more cards. We also found Angel,
the Black Lab Comfort Dog, to appreciate!

Thursday morning, after more presenting of appreciation; the 8 of us extended
our gratitude to ourselves by going out to eat at the Hanger One restaurant.
All were in good cheer!

By the Thursday afternoon visit we had met a beautiful Bloodhound, and
booked a possible K9 Presentation; and Maria had become a volunteer!

This was all made possible by the wonderful women in our Women’s Club.
It began with a visit from Chief Eddie J. Pust to the POA meeting in
November, who recommended Lieutenant Michael Arellano to be our liaison.

Thank you to everyone who wrote cards and took time to acknowledge
those who risk and serve for us.!!
