Every stem placed here was placed because of how it sits against what is already in the arrangement — the dark against the chartreuse, the sculptural against the round. Burgundy calla lily in a field of chartreuse hydrangea. Ivory garden rose below them both.

Fiber and flower are one material language. This is what it sounds like.

The decision lives in the detail.

Plum velvet against black lacquer. Burgundy calla puncruating the green. Each material was chosen for how it behaves next to the one beside it — not for what it looks like on its own.
