Congratulations to the Lake Geneva Badgers FFA Floriculture team on their GOLD placing at the National FFA Floriculture Career Development Event!

The road to nationals began last spring at a qualifying contest for the right to compete at the state contest in Madison. The team won the state contest the end on April and represented Wisconsin at the National contest this week in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A special thank you to Lisa Belisle, Flora Elements, for advising the team in their preparations.

Help me in congratulating our GOLD placing National FFA Floriculture team, Lake Geneva Badgers, today in Indianapolis!
This team has worked so hard all year at Regionals, State, and practicing a lot the past two months. They have even done all day mock tests with myself at the studio to prepare for the intensive pressure you feel at Nationals.

This year at Nationals they competed in...
Team event - Farm to table theme
Individual Design - Smiley mug
Media Selling- Grocery bouquet upsell
Greenhouse Management - Pointsettia root rot
Greenhouse Procedures- Pinching succulents
Identification- 40 plants, flowers, tools, pest disorders
Written test - multiple choice and problem solving
Pricing practicum- fresh floral design based

A huge round of applause for these four as they have learned so much in a short amount of time.
