This was sooo fun!

Here’s how The Hot Spot social club for Gen-X women works. I find or create fun events, activities and social events, post it on our Hot Spot app and you get to choose what you want to attend. We get together, meet new women, try something new and just have a great time!

This was a Pumpkin Chunky Knit class at Pretty Please I. Hartland. A super cute creative studio and space for events and classes.

What I love here is that not only did I make these cute pumpkins, I got to meet two women who came to their first Hot Spot event, re-connect with a friend I haven’t seen in years and also hang with two more friends I have met through The Hot Spot. We had so much to talk about!

Have plans tonight? Well you do now!

A couple weeks ago I posted that what would be a blast if a local bar/restaurant would host a DWTS 🪩 Watch Party 🎉. I asked if any women would be interested in that and the response was a resounding “HELL YES”!

Smoke on the Water BBQ Okauchee stepped up and said “let’s do it”!

Last week was the first week AND although the word hadn’t quite got out yet AND there was a Brewer playoff game, those of us that did show up had a great time!

SOTW has a DWTS specialty cocktail themed drink menu. Yes… that’s a pineapple drink with a mirrorball drink pick. And yes, I was indulging in a Tuesday evening. We ordered food, judged with our paddles, sang along, cheered, made all the comments and maybe even danced a little 😜. They gave away some prizes. One was a raffle. Congratulations Dawn EB! And one was for the “who’s going home tonight” contest. Congratulations Christina Jester!

I’m always hearing “I need to get out more”. Help me build this thing up because I’m picturing a really killer DWTS Finale party and it truly was such a fun night. Plus my reputation is on the line 😆. I told SOTW you ladies would show up for this 🤪.

DWTS / HOT SPOT WEEK 4 RECP

DWTS + YACHT ROCK? This was my kind of night.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE yacht rock. So yes, I was here for the dancing… but also for my own little sing-along from the couch. 😂

A few things we need to discuss:
• Amber Glenn and Harry Shum Jr. both earning 24/30.
• Tatyana Ali coming back stronger with that quickstep.
• Guillermo bringing out the coconut bra. There’s a man committed to the theme.
• Taylor Hanson and Britt going home. Did you see that coming?!

I planned this party, but I didn’t plan THIS.

This is the moment I realized, we didn’t just gather on a Sunday afternoon to wear moo moos and sing to the songs that raised us. We came together because MAYBE this is what Gen-X women didn’t know we needed.

Most of these women didn’t know each other before walking in the door. Then… Piano Man came on. Arms went around shoulders, a small circle formed, it got bigger, and bigger… and suddenly it felt like we knew each other forever.

This is why I create events for women 40+. Yes we have fun, but sometimes we actually NEED it.

🚶‍♀️ Want to meet some new women? Come walk with us tomorrow! 💛

If you've been following The Hot Spot and wondering what we're all about, this is probably one of the easiest ways to come check us out.

The Hot Spot is a social group for Gen-X women in the Lake Country area who want to get out, try new things, make new friendships, and have a little more fun in this season of life.

Tomorrow we're keeping it super simple with a Walk & Talk around Fowler Lake in Oconomowoc. The loop takes about 45 minutes, and there's no agenda, just walking, chatting, getting some fresh air, and meeting some new women.

📍 Parking lot behind ROOTS Coffee Bar, by the cute colorful umbrellas and outdoor furniture along the boardwalk.

And this is an open invite, so you do not need to be a Hot Spot member to come! Come by yourself or grab a girlfriend and bring her along. The more the merrier. 💛 I know showing up to something new can feel intimidating, but I promise you, we are the most welcoming group of women.

Afterward, anyone who wants to keep hanging out can join us for a casual drink or bite somewhere nearby. We'll play it by ear!

Well… let’s just say this was way better than I could have imaged. After these big events, it takes time to process.

I had a crazy idea, didn’t know if anyone would see the vision. But turns out THEY UNDERSTOOD THE ASSESSMENT!

We packed in immense amount of fun in 3.5 hours. The best part is seeing women completely let loose. No holding back. No giving a s**t what anyone might think. No sucking it in. Just a big roomful of women whose brightly colored moo moos matched their bright lights from within.
