I love LOVE. ❤️

I love my story. I love your stories. I love hearing how two people found each other, and I love watching them begin the next chapter of their lives here at Thistlewood.

Today, John and I celebrate 30 years of marriage, and I can’t help but think about how beautifully my own life has come full circle.

After nearly 30 years of photographing people and their stories, somehow it all led me here. To Thistlewood. To these gardens. To a place where I now get to photograph some of the very first moments of other people’s marriages.

Thirty years ago, I could never have imagined the life we would build or where our story would take us.

But God knew. ❤️

The wedding day is beautiful, but the life you build together afterward is the real love story.

Still looking gorgeous! Am I the only person in the world who is sad that fall is here?

Here in Michigan, summers are never long enough. After 20 years of growing and creating this place, I still dread watching the gardens begin to fade.

Give me all the green, flowers and butterflies, early misty mornings in my glasshouse and long summer evenings on the porch.

It’s an incredible amount of work, but the joy this place brings me makes every bit of it worth it.

I’m just not ready to let summer go. ❤️
