Here at Main Street Flowers, our family has suffered a tremendous loss.
We have lost my husband’s mother, my mother-in-law, and our children’s beloved Mamaw Mattie.
Mattie was a truly special lady. She came from a hard upbringing but never let that define her. She was loving, caring, strong, and always thinking of others before herself. She never complained, worked harder than anyone I have ever known, and had a determination and stubbornness that carried her through life, especially in her long fight against Parkinson’s disease.
For the past 36 years, I have been blessed to have her in my life, and I have learned more from her than words could ever express.
In the coming days, we ask for your patience, prayers, and understanding as we say goodbye for now to someone who meant so much to our family. She will be deeply missed, not only by us, but by all who knew and loved her.
We are remaining open and operating as normally as we can. We will share updates regarding store hours as plans are made and as we lay her to rest.
And in true Mattie fashion, we will keep showing up, keep working hard, and continue doing our best to serve our customers and community, because that’s exactly what she would want us to do.
Thank you all for your love, kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time. It means more than you know.
