On Friday, we rolled up to Hillbilly Hibachi and, boy, were we in for a treat! The grilled chicken and fried rice were delicious. We're all about supporting small businesses, especially when they serve up food that's this good. If you'revin the Newport area go check their food truck out.

We had an absolute blast at The Great Hartford Regatta today! Seeing all the outrageous boats people built was hilarious and shockingly they all made it to the finish line. We enjoyed treats from Wes & Wyz Shaved Ice & more and Twisted Sisters Snack Shack. Huge thanks to Pigeon River Photos for hosting this amazing event! Next year Tennessee Tater is building a boat and joining the shenanigans!

🚣‍♀️🌊 THE GREAT HARTFORD REGATTA IS ALMOST HERE! 🌊🚣‍♂️

Tomorrow, some of the most creative (and adventurous!) crews around will take to the water in homemade boats for the The Great Hartford Regatta Whether you're racing, cheering from shore, or just coming out to enjoy a fun day in Hartford, it's shaping up to be a fantastic community event!

Start working on those last-minute boat designs, gather your paddling crew, and get ready for a day filled with laughter, friendly competition, and unforgettable memories.

Tennessee Tater Food Truck will be set up in Hartford all day, serving up loaded potatoes, smothered fries, Swirlee Spuds, pulled pork sandwiches, and more! Stop by, grab a meal, and make a day of it while supporting local businesses and community events.

🎉 After a full day of serving great food, we'll be looking forward to kicking back tomorrow evening and spectating the race, cheering on all the teams as they paddle, splash, and hopefully stay afloat!

Discover the Heart of Tennessee Tater

Founded by John & his mother, Angela, this food truck is a labor of love rooted in family tradition & culinary passion. John's journey began at just 15, working alongside Angela at Dream Dinners, where their shared love for food blossomed.

With culinary expertise from Queens College & training under a Michelin Star Chef in France, Angela blended her skills with John's vision. As a devoted father to two young boys, Charlie & Georgie, John dreamed of creating something special for his family & the community he calls home. Angela eagerly stepped in to help turn that dream into reality.

After honing his skills waiting tables in Gatlinburg, John took a leap of faith in Sept 2025. He embraced the challenges of unpredictable mountain weather & long drives across East Tennessee, hauling his food truck to vibrant festivals, bustling parking lots, local breweries & industrial lunches. Eager to share his delicious potatoes & smoked meats. John found joy in connecting with people wherever they gathered. And his delicious food speaks for itself.

John lives off-grid in Grassy with his family, including their playful dog Ziggy, a flock of chickens, & the occasional black bear wandering by.

For John & his family, being part of this vibrant community is a true privilege. They invite you to stop by, share a meal, & become part of a story that’s still unfolding.
