The designer, Kathryn Paterwic, gives lectures around steampunk fashion and proper Victorian behaviors. She is inspired by Victorian counter culture, the way that the mental state of the world in the Victorian age is reflected in fashion of the time and what happens when society’s corsets strings are pulled too tight. She also goes by the adage more is more (more clothes can be more sexy) and the theory that leaving things up to the imagination is sexy.

I did this to myself...
So I am rebuilding my Strawberry Shortcake which was and will be based on the NoFlutter design but slightly different this time.
One of the things that I wanted to do was finally learn how to digitize with Hatch Embroidery and use my BERNINA USA embroidery machine.
Last time I commissioned a freind to stitch these out, but now I have all the tool so why not do them myself... and while I am at it let's add some hand embroidered elements that I learned Laura K - Sewing Teacher.
I am thinking of also doing some painting to pop the colors a little while waiting on some rhinestone for the seeds (where the green spots are) because why not.
There are 10 of these squares on the apron 🫥🫥🫥 but worth it...I keep telling myself

I am doing a panle at CTCon this year about improving your seeing instantly and I thought I would take a second during this project and share one with you.
A lot of the tips in this panle ate going to be pretty obvious but people just forget or simple like this one. Nothing complex but makes a huge difference in line quality.

This one is a little longer, I am sorry about that but it covers a lot of ground when it comes to asking cisplau judges for feed back. Over all no matter how you go about it, whether it is face to face at a feed back panel or through email a few days later BE NICE, whether you "win" or lose, thr judges have taking time out of their cosplay experience to advise you on what you can improve on.

We have gone from Strawberry Pimp (Alastor) to Strawberry Shortcake, in our series on feedback I have been given. Now is the prefect time because.... I am starting to rebuild her as we speak and she will most likely be one of the cosplay build write up that you can find on my website.
Now this is the first time we talk about what the other competitor brought to the table vs. what I brought. Sometimes it isn't about what your other competitor brought as far as skills VS. What you brought because remember in the end it is a competition.
