Oh hay, they are out 😅😅 I missed my own announcement but here we are. Can't wait to head back to Key City Steampunk and all the craziness that comes with it.
Paladins are steadfast allies in the mystic realms. They are the heart and shield of the great seekers of epic-ness, and our latest Guest Announcement is nothing short of epic. Key City Steampunk Presents: THE ADVENTURER'S GUILD is thrilled to welcome back Redfield Design this August 8th thru the 10th in Gettysburg PA.
Redfield spends her days teaching high school students what it takes to be a professional seamstress as well as the ins and outs of technical theater. The rest of her time she spends building award winning cosplays as both a master level Stitcher and Foam Smith. She encourages everyone she meets to be creative and think outside the box.
Redfield loves breathing life into two dimensional characters, creating a living entity tethered to this universe with familiar details she pulls from history and research. Her cosplays can span popular culture, literature, folklore, legends or a mashup of all of these. She believes that the details are key, helping the audience suspend disbelief. Anything from accessories, cuffs on a sleeve and the shape of a skirt, to prop weapons and armor, can all work together to give cohesion and maintain the illusion of a cosplay. She focuses on making sure garments flow together, whether it is different fabrics or other materials. Well versed in all manners of fabrication, Redfield's panels are not to be missed.
Redfield tries to learn a new skill or technique with each project so she can better teach others in a way that is comfortable for them, no matter their skill level. Each skill can be as simple as a new sewing technique she has never tried to a huge undertaking like creating a massive foam Space Marine. Redfield also likes to take on projects that challenge her mentally and are self affirming. She believes it is always important to be proud of what you have created and feel fabulous with the results
Join Redfield, along with our scores of other guests for a weekend of panels, music, vendors, workshops, games and more. Learn more about the event, book you room (while you can) - purchase your tickets, and explore the growing story behind Key City at www.keycitysteampunk.com
