Last night was a memorable evening as Queen Shannon and 1st Runner Up Sami proudly presented the 2026 4H ambassadors—Laura VanDerZanden Twiss, Emma Miller, and Clinton Hallack—with special belt buckles to celebrate their 2nd year in this important role!

It’s inspiring to witness the youth of Oceana County embracing agriculture, and we’re truly honored to be a part of their journey. Here’s to many more achievements in the future!

🎉Asparagus Queen Shannon and 1st Runner Up Sami had a blast at the Pentwater Homecoming parade yesterday! They enjoyed handing out candy and celebrating with so many familiar faces. It's always a joy to be part of such a vibrant community event! 🍬

Queen Shannon and 1st Runner Up Sami represented the National Asparagus Festival at the National Baby Food Festival in Fremont today! They had a blast mingling with fellow royalty and celebrating with the community. 💚

Last night was a blast! Our Asparagus Queen Shannon and First Runner Up Sami had an amazing time at Hart Sparks. 🎉 It was great to connect with the community and celebrate America’s Birthday! They even did a radio spot on 102.7 WMOM and were able to talk all things asparagus!

Next up the White Lake Area 4th of July Parade! Hope to see you there!

Sami Weesies will be drawing from over a decade of experience in the horticultural world while serving as an ambassador for West Michigan asparagus alongside 2026 Asparagus Queen Shannon Beishuizen!

As Asparagus Queen runner-up, the year ahead for Sami is no less jam-packed, and she’s well prepared to talk plants with the best of them.

Newly crowned Asparagus Queen Shannon Beishuizen has deep family roots in agriculture, roots that played a big role in her being named the Queen at last weekend's National Asparagus Festival!

Now the Grant Township clerk, Beishuizen hopes to use her year as Queen to encourage future generations of farmers.
